Buying in bulk saves money but often hidden setup and minimum order quantities can make a small order cost prohibitive.
If you are tasked with sourcing items for the latest work team promotion bear in mind some print firms have minimum orders of 500 or even 1000 for items such as mousepads.
Artwork setup costs $$$ are often added to traditional print method based suppliers.
Doing my own research showed:
- Quoted $120 for custom badge artwork setup with my research for local suppliers.
- $70 for t-shirt art setup.
- Mug costs had a $1000 min, plus $110 art setup for standard ONE colour print!
- Mousepads had a massive 1000 min. order qty!
- Sales tax is almost always never accounted for in commercial run cost quotes.
